In Anglophone West Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Liberia, the WASSCE is organized by WAEC (West African Examinations Council). The WASSCE exam is the required test that helps secondary school students get admission to university. In short, WAEC oversees everything and WASSCE is only one of the exams it conducts.
